• Howdy! Had some vacation time this weekend, back now. Chilling out and doing a whole lot of nothing! No more crazy stories, alas, but there's a good side to that too. Summer is too soon and too hot and too much, i'll have to find a way to get into some kind of trouble soon, though!

• SXSW...long, drunk, and fun. :) No "bad" stories...but some good ones.

• Music....lots going on. Doing a broadway revue today at GSU. Still working on Jimmy Buffett songs. Learning songs by Debussy, Donizetti, and Rorem for school, just booked some more jazz piano gigs and trying to find time to work on original stuff. Whew...its all fun though!

• Only a couple of weeks, but it's one of those relationships where everything just falls into place. Things are comfortable and he's so easy to just be around. He's former military too. Smiles! Yeah me!

• Back to school on Monday for two + weeks (GSU music school) then on winter break. It definitely screws with my sense of time, having all these days off.

• Yes then that is where I heard about it. Me and my co-worker were looking at it as soon as we heard about it. We thought it was pretty kewl.

• I heard about your website on the radio and thought I would love to check it out. Its totally awesome!

• I was staying in downtown L.A. with my friend Kakki. We went to the Omni hotel across the street the first night where the piano player Rick, let me sing "Misty". Spent the next day exploring Hollywood (which was a bit underwhelming), went to Hal's that night and then for coffee at the Bel Air Hotel which is such a cool, cozy little spot and also has an amazing pianist. I didn't have much more time to spend in L.A. area since we left for Santa Barbara the next day though we did stop in Malibu for lunch at The Sunset, Zuma Beach. Funny story...I didn't have my friend in Santa Barbara's new number so I called a mutual friend Michael to see if he had it. When he answered, it was 5 in the morning in Thailand and he was drinking martinis. His band, N.O. Preservation Hall Jazz Band, had just played for the crown prince of Thailand and were still up partying. He looked up the number on his computer and texted it to me. The wonders of modern technology! The benefit was at Soho Restaurant and was amazing. It raises money for arts and music in the schools in Santa Barbara. This was my second time doing it and I hope to come back again.

• Thanks for your comment. I was in California a couple of weeks ago for a Joni Mitchell tribute. We went to Hal's Bar and Grill in Venice. A very hopping place.

• Bad news. The coffee shop guy didn't work out. He isn't quite over his last breakup. It happens. It still hurts though. He said he thought he was ready for a relationship. I think he was just ready to move on, not ready for love yet though. Damn the bad luck.

• Hey Jennifer I read the email you sent about the BadOnLineDates.com Gives Back promotion...What an awesome idea and very nice of you to make donations to help homeless veterans for every story we post through the end of the year...Awesome Holiday spirit...Thanks so much for letting us be involved in this...Very cool that we can enjoy the site as we do and make a difference...I will be sure to help spread the message about BadOnlineDates.com and the promotion and I hope everyone else here does as well...May we keep the stories coming and help homeless vets as well as respect those that are away from home serving our country...I have to go now...Have to go on what may be my next bad date story:)

• I don't know if I'd call it "wisdom"...more like a "war story"? But sure, no problem.

• Just to let you know, the guy I met for coffee... well, we are doing great. He and I click so well together. So far, so good! Keep your fingers crossed for me!

• I think it may have more to do with men being a lot less critical, having many fewer expectations, and being a lot more appreciative of any attention at all from women, whether "good" or "bad". What I find interesting is that generally speaking, if men wish to date, they have to seize upon whatever opportunity happens along, whereas women get to pick and choose whom they wish to date. Consider that, and then look at all the "bad date" stories from women. Interesting.

• Your book is awesome! I am so intrigued by the "Like, Love, or Dopamine" chapter. It does feel like you are on a high when you are in love. I knew it was more than just "being in love".

• I've noticed that Simon, Israel and I are the only dudes who have actually bothered to post a "bad date" story. I wonder what that tends to indicate.

• Hey Jennifer...while in Iraq, I worked as Cost Specialist in the Project Controls Dept. I tracked the various cost associated with running the army bases. Worked 7 days/week, 12+ hours/day...got to fly in Blackhawk helicopters a couple of times :) What did you do before starting your website? Matt

• Hey Jennifer, Just think...one day when you are making commercials in support of your website and have become famous, I can say that I was one of the visit people to get onto this new site :). I go down to Tampa each year to do some fishing with my Uncle. We hooked up some redfish, catfish and stingrays. It was a lot of fun. After working in Iraq for a year, it was nice to get back to the ocean and just relax....

• Hey, thanks for the comments-good luck with the site...have other stories to share at some point in time...as for the bill thing-some people just don't get it-especially when you are both are working....most guys just want to feel respected and want the offer to pick up the bill every once in awhile or at least a "reach" for the bill....after a few dates,if it goes well, and you are dating seriously, it works itself out...but in the beginning on the first couple of dates-you are auditioning for the person across the table....geez, there i go off again! lol

• Jennifer, I heard you on 94.5 The Buzz in Houston...this is a great website -- very simple and straightforward. Check back...I am adding some more tidbits about myself...the best part about fishing that day was that unlike my two fishing partners --- I did not fall out of the boat.
