Other than “What pickup lines should I use?”, this might be the most oft-asked question of me. How come the hottest babes seem to end in up the arms of ne’er-do-well’s, rockers, bikers, maverick entrepreneurs, ‘roid freaks, womanizers and con artists? Can a nice guy get some love? I’ve got great news for aspiring members of Smooth Nation. Things are not as they seem. Traffic-stopping honies don’t actually prefer bad boys. Here’s the real skinny. The most attractive women within any society have more options regarding men than their less popular peers- regardless of the resident standard of beauty. More guys step to nines than sixes. Assertive guys. Unintimidated types. Why do they score? Highly valued babes have always gravitated toward alpha males, leaders, and risk takers. Whether Genghis Khan, Casanova, or Bill Clinton, alpha males have historically possessed traits that make them the best earners, the superior warriors, the providers. They have conqueror characteristics. Some of these aspects of their personality, (e.g. stepping on folks to get ahead) overlap with what many of us consider a bad boy. Many men misinterpret this preference, and try to gain success with beautiful women by pretending to be mean, disinterested, or sleazy. But it’s not the sleaze that’s sexy- it’s direction, accomplishment, high testosterone and the realization one can “have” almost any woman. Grow your inner mack, exude confidence, and women will notice you. You needn’t behave like a jerk, that’s not what the guys getting all the panties are doing.
